We’re delighted to announce that the Family Haven has been chosen as one of the projects supported by the Aviva Community Fund.
With the help of Aviva, we have set up our first ever Crowdfunding page and we’re asking the local community to pledge their support and help us raise funds to set up a breakfast club for disadvantaged families living with food insecurity.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, one in four adults in the UK have struggled to access food they can afford with 14% of families with children experiencing moderate or severe food insecurity. At the Family Haven we want to help by providing a daily breakfast for the vulnerable families who attend our day centre.
Our Crowdfunder page goes live to the public for donations on 26th October and we are asking for as much support as possible to get our campaign noticed. Please help by donating and sharing the link to our page with your networks and across your social media channels. All support and donations are greatly appreciated and will make a huge difference to our families.
The Aviva Community Fund supports small charities with forward-thinking ideas across the UK with funding, vital support and resources all year round. Aviva is sharing £250,000 of the Aviva Community Fund across all UK employees. They will each have a £25 voucher, and it’s up to them to decide which project they donate to. The employee giving goes live on 2nd November and Aviva employees will have the opportunity to donate their allocation of funds to the participating causes that matter most to them.
We are looking to raise £1,250 to fund our breakfast club and if we exceed this target we’ll be able to reach more vulnerable families facing food poverty.
