Three days of jubilee celebratory parties were held on 30th, 31st May and 1st June at the Family Haven day centre thanks to a grant from the Asda Foundation. The children were able to experience a wide selection of activities such as making Royal crowns, decorating castles along with flag painting and card making.
We set out afternoon tea using our best china cups and saucers, along with plates, which carried delicious sandwiches, fruit salads as well as an assortment of treats which catered for all dietary and religious requirements.
The children enjoyed new experiences in the garden; playing boule and croquet with each other. This was a really exciting experience, as the children found they could dress up as a queen or king whilst playing the garden games all at the same time!
The children were all presented with a souvenir book, flag and balloons to take home. The parties were full of happy, excited children who have hopefully gained some knowledge of what the celebration was all about.
