Celebrating Eid this year was a fantastic and informative experience. Everyone was very excited in the morning, putting up decorations and seeing all the different types of food parents were bringing in for this special occasion.
We started our morning with Henna hand painting on one table which one child enjoyed so much he decided to take off the henna and reapply 4 times! In addition we had foam people decorating on another table, each child had a go making their foam people using pens/paint and glitter to decorate them.
We had a selection of different Eid themed music playing in the background for the children and adults to enjoy. During our morning play session, we had a variety of educational stories and read them to the children to develop their knowledge on the festival.
Once we had reached the afternoon, we all went to the garden to celebrate and eat. The food selection was amazing! All chosen and brought in by the parents who happily let the children get involved in a food tasting activity giving them the opportunity to try a variety of new food. While outside we had brought in a speaker and got the music going again! Some parents, children and staff got up and started dancing to the Eid themed music, while others were laughing and eating and having a great time!
The day itself was a great experience and it was amazing to see so many people enjoying themselves and communicating with one another.
